JDV is an accessory brand founded by Jolien Develtere in 2022. Every piece is designed as a sculpture to harmonize with the body. Inspired by daily movements, by different body shapes, and inner virtues. How hands move while expressing, how earrings blend into the rhythm of the hair, how a piece of jewelry subtly transforms someone. The pieces are created to inspire these quiet transformations — a silent sophistication.
When I was sixteen, I fell in love with a ring I saw in a Vogue magazine. At the time, I couldn’t afford it, so I approached a local jeweler to recreate it with my own creative input. Watching him bring this piece to life was mesmerizing. I promised myself that one day, I too would master this art.
Ten years after that first visit to the jeweler, I graduated as a goldsmith.
My fascination with jewelry has always been deeply connected to my interest in people. Why do we make certain choices? How does life shape who we are and how we present ourselves to the world? To better understand this complexity, I studied psychology. At the same time, I was constantly drawing—portraits, nudes, silhouettes.
My passion for human forms and expression became the foundation of my work. Like a sculptor, I shape each piece by hand, embracing its imperfections.
These subtle flaws aren’t mistakes but traces of craftsmanship and humanity.
They reflect our own imperfections, which make us unique.
